Fused Glass Icicles Christmas Decorations - try your hand at making your own glass tree decorations with these short classes for beginners.
This workshop introduces you to the fun of simple glass fusing with float glass, resulting in a number of unqiue icicle decorations to enjoy at Christmas - or give as hand-made gifts!
The materials and tools needed to create several glass icicle decorations are provided, with enough time to make at least 4 icicles 15-20cm long.
You'll be using float glass, coloured frit and glass you'll crush with a hammer to make the 'ice' for your icicles.
You'll start by cutting the basic icicle shape out of glass under our expert guidance. If you prefer to work with pre-cut shapes that's fine!
You'll then decorate these shapes with chunks of glass to represent ice and coloured glass particles, called frit.
The class runs for 2 and a half hours approx.
This class will give you a brief introduction to basic fusing, including the difference between the types of glass you can fuse with, and some of the essentials of kiln operation.
The class covers all the stages involved in making your decorations from the raw materials and is suitable for all levels, especially beginners.
The course cost of £65 inc VAT includes:
- All the float glass, frit and other materials needed to make at least 4 icicles (most attendees make 5)
- Use of all tools, apron, goggles and other protective gear
- Refreshments during the class
- Maximum class size 7 people
- All your icicles to collect after firing in the kiln (approx 5 days)
- All workshops run in our studio near Towcester
- Morning sessions run from 10.30am to 1.30pm
- Evening sessions run from 6pm to 9pm

Icicle Making takes place at our studio in Northants just outside Towcester on these dates - evening sessions 6-30pm to 9 pm approx.
