Glass Fusing - Christmas Decorations
One day workshops with Jenny Timms

"Loved it and cannot wait to come again ." - Alison

Basic Glass Fusing - creating your own hand-made glass Christmas Tree decorations and tealight holders, suitable for beginners

On this workshop you'll make a number of jolly decorations in time for Christmas, and learn about the basics of glass fusing, as well as having fun!

This glass fusing wokshop involves melting together layers of glass plus coloured crushed glass (called 'frit') and decorating with enamels to create fused glass pieces.

You'll get to make around 8 decorations during the day - several stars suitable for hanging on your Christmas tree, a number of tealight holders for standard tealight candles plus a snowperson, mini wreath or funky Christmas tree decoration (all about 10cm high).

There's no glass cutting required on this class and it really is suitable for total beginners.

We start by examiming the processes and materials you'll be using; after a demonstration of the critical first stage you'll then start to assemble your stars and work on the designs for your tealight holders. There's a huge range of frits and enamels for you to choose from so your finished tealights and stars will all be unique.

You'll have time to make around 8 pieces - you can choose to make all stars, all tealights or a mix of both. Your decorations will be fired in our kilns over the next couple of days and will be ready to collect afterwards..

The course cost of £125 includes:

  • Pre-cut clear fusible glass, frit, enamel pens and stringers to make your decorations
  • Use of all tools and apron
  • Light lunch & refreshments during the day
  • Maximum class size 5 people for individual attention
  • Kiln firing over 2-3 days
  • All your work to keep, after firing
  • Eligibility for our Project Days Programme
  • Class runs from 10-30am to 4-30pm (approx) at our Northants studio near Towcester
