Snowy Christmas Village Scene
Make an impressive Christmas centrepiece arrangement in just one day!

This workshop is a lovely one-day introduction to the foiling method of 3-dimensional stained glass construction (sometimes called the Tiffany method) - going beyond making a panel or suncatcher!
You will make a number of sections of foiled glass building in to a Snowy Christmas Scene - all in one day.
If you're a beginner you'll create at least 5 pieces for your centrepiece, or more if you've done foiling before. There will be a selection of pre-cut shapes to add, in addition to the pieces you make.
Your centrepiece is based on a 22-25cm diameter wood slice. We'll add a moon and a working model illuminated streetlamp before you arrive.
You'll then cut, grind, foil and solder the glass for snow drifts, wintry trees and a miniatiure house, German-style town hall or church depending on your preference and time.
One-day Christmas Wreath or Winter Scene in copper foiling Stained glass class for up to 6 people
We start out by looking at the basic processes and tools we'll be using:
- Scoring and breaking glass, using oil-cutter, grozing pliers and cut runner
- Preparing the glass for soldering using the grinder, copper foil and crimping tool
- Ensuring the pieces will all fit together properly!
- How to hold the pieces together while soldering - essential for 3d designs!
- Soldering using a high-power soldering iron and fluxes
We'll demonstrate every step in making your sections as you work so you can see clearly how to use all the tools and techniques needed.
You'll cut all the glass for the winter scene components and then grind the pieces to fit accurately. Once foiled and soldered, you're ready to decide where your pieces will be placed in your scene and you'll complete your scene.
The course cost of £169 inc VAT per person includes:
- All materials, wood slice and coloured glass
- A selection of pre-cut pieces for some of your components to add to your own
- Use of tools and protective gear
- Refreshments during the session including herbal teas, decaffeinated drinks & gluten-free biscuits and lunch from Bell Cafe on 1-day workshops plus seasonal treats
- Maximum class size 6 people

We pride ourselves on creating a fun, stimulating and supportive environment for you to enjoy discovering new skills. Our one day classes are suitable for anyone over 18, although we do advise that anyone with a medical condition that limits their hand strength or control, or their ability to stand for periods of time contact us before booking to discuss.
Due to the use of leaded solder this workshop is not suitable for expectant mothers.
With a maximum of 6 students you can be sure of plenty of attention and guidance throughout the class.
