Glass Fusing - Make a Stunning Coral Bowl

Slumped Glass Fusing - creating curved glass forms with texture, suitable for all levels from beginners up and for those with some glass fusing experience.

On this workshop you'll learn how to create a fantastic bowl with a choice of two shapes, with a wide range of vibrant coloured glass to choose from.

Your coral bowl can be up to approximately 30cm in diameter, with a choice of eventual shapes, depending on the mould you choose to use.

If you've enjoyed learning the basics of glass fusing on one of our other fusing classes, this is a fascinating next step for your new fused glass hobby!

Slumping involves adding form to fused glass after its initial firing. You'll create the flat forms for your projects first, and after the first firing these will be 'slump-fired' in to the mould.
Once cooled your pieces will be ready for collection!

Creating your bowl starts with some basic glass cutting to create the strips of coloured glass that will become the coral. We'll teach you all the skills needed for each step.

You'll then construct your bowl as a flat piece of art under our guidance; after the first firing we'll then fire your piece a second time in to a mould.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and the more experienced alike - there are plenty of new skills to enjoy learning if you've done some simple glass fusing before.

The course cost of £129 inc VAT per person includes:

• Fusible glass sheets for the basis of your projects
• Use of all tools and apron
• Refreshments during the session including herbal teas, decaffeinated drinks & gluten-free biscuits
• Maximum class size 6 people for individual attention
• Both kiln firings and info sheet on the processes used
• All your work to keep, after all firings are complete
• Eligibility for our Project Days Programme
• Class runs from 1pm to 5pm (approx) at our Northants studio near Towcester
