Enamelling for Beginners - make your own colourful jewellery using enamel powders and copper jewellery blanks in half a day!
On this workshop you'll learn how to create beautiful pieces of copper-based jewellery, combining powered enamels, millefiori, flower wafers and threads.
You'll make a selection of earrings and pendant pieces, all to take home at the end of the session.
We'll teach you all the essentials - from cleaning the copper and applying the enamels to firing your creations at over 900 degrees C in the kiln.
This is a great introduction to basic enamelling - and you'll make pieces you're sure to love to wear or give as gifts!
You can design your own creations or take inspiration from the examples in the studio.
The starting point for your projects on this class is a selection of pre-cut pieces of copper in a range of shapes and sizes. We'll teach you how to clean, design and fire your pieces using the powdered enamels, millefiori, flower wafers and threads and wire inclusions too if you fancy trying your hand at that.
You will also get ‘hands on’ with firing all your own work too…

The course cost of £95 inc VAT per person includes:
- A selection of copper blanks in various shapes and sizes. This class will include 6 pieces per student and the findings to make these into finished wearable jewellery.
- if time allows you will be able to purchase more pieces on the day along with the findings, if you wish.
- Powdered enamels, millefiori, flower wafers, threads and wires
- Use of all tools and equipment
- An apron and face mask (face masks are to be worn for the duration of the workshop)
- Refreshments during the session including herbal teas, decaffeinated drinks & gluten-free biscuits
- Maximum class size 6 people for individual attention
- All necessary firings
- All your work to keep

Jenny and Mike are continuously developing new workshops to add to the established range of Vitreus Art classes in glass art forms. Our workshops aim to encourage anyone to jump right in and have a go, no previous experience required!
