Foiling (aka. Tiffany) Taster Session - Funky Foiled Flowers
Learn the basics of foiling stained glass in just half a day!

This half-day taster workshop will give you a feel for the copper foiling method of stained glass; if you enjoy this class we suggest you consider a full one-day workshop to gain deeper skills and make a more challenging piece.
You should have time to make more than one flower, depending on your level of experience.
We'll offer a choice of patterns including one or more complex flower and additional simpler designs, depending on time.
Half-day copper foiling stained glass beginners class for up to 6 people - Funky Foiled Flowers
We start out by learning some basic glass cutting techniques using the same tools we use ourselves.You'll then cut the coloured glass for your piece and move on to grinding the edges smooth. Once ready, you'll apply the coppper foil, and solder the pieces together.
We'll teach you how to solder the petals and centre together, and how to attach the flower to its stem; you should have time to add a leaf or two.
At each stage we'll show you the tools, materials and skills you'll need to complete your funky flowers project.
- Scoring and breaking glass, using oil-cutter, grozing pliers and cut runner
- Preparing the glass for soldering using the grinder, copper foil and crimping tool
- Soldering using a high-power soldering iron and fluxes
- Adding the stem and leaves
The course cost of £85 inc VAT per person includes:
- All materials and glass
- Simple wooden base to display your flowers
- Use of tools and protective gear
- Refreshments during the workshop
- Maximum class size 6 people
- Your piece to take home
- Class runs from 2.30pm to (approx) 5-30pm at our Northants studio near Towcester
