Hello from Jenny & Mike!

It's less than our usual 6 weeks since the last newsletter, but we wanted to remind you about the Hertfordshire Visual Arts Forum Open Studios season which kicks off with public activities this weekend, and with studios opening next weekend.

We also want to welcome the many nice folks we met at Wrest Park last month, and send details of the latest new-subscriber voucher code - refer to your email for details of how to use your discount.

Events coming up
All over Hertfordshire arty types are gearing up for a month-long season of events and open exhibitions.
In the whole county there will be 114 artists exhibiting.
In Berkhamsted alone there are at least 18 artists or groups, including our group - Art in Berkhamsted.

Our own event is free to enter, open to all, and runs over three weekends, from 13th September to 28th September. Refreshments will be available during the day.

For info on our exhibition (with established local artists Sara Wickenden and Stuart Grieve), go to our microsite here.
This also has a link to the HVAF official website giving you details on all the other artists you can see.

Over Christmas we're delighted to be showing a wide range of pieces, plus information on the processes and materials we use at Broxbourne Civic Hall (in the main foyer bar). You can see our work there from 9th December 2008 to 16th January 2009.

As always, the details of all our events, venue maps, open times and links to related websites are on our events page…

New pieces
We've added two radically different new designs in the last week or so - an abstract 'Inferno' with fiery hot colours and an art-nouveau-ish Hummingbird, to go with our other Nouveau-esque pieces.
Check out the piece on the right...

We're also experimenting with freestanding designs (after several requests from our recent show at Wrest Park) and with etching. More about that next time...

Finally....
Thanks to all the folks that spent their hard-earned money with us, chatted with us or exhibited nearby at Wrest Park.
We're looking forward to seeing you at one of our events, hearing from you, or making something for you!

Best Regards,
Jenny & Mike

P.S. all our new pieces, updates, new events etc are on our News page. Hopefully this isn't 'news' to you!

For visitors to Berkhamsted during Open Studios:
Click on the map for a larger version.

There is limited parking at Gable Hall so the best places to park are the Tesco car-park (pay & display) indicated by 'P' on the map, or the pay & display car-park next to Waitrose. Both are within a few minutes walk from Gable Hall.

There are also plenty of local coffee shops (we recommend The Bloc on the High street).

Reminder about our subscriber discount scheme
There is about a month remaining for current subscribers to use their discount vouchers (see previous emails). We'll be repeating the offer again this year, but if you see something you like and want to snap it up before our exhibitions, you can use your voucher online or feel free to call or email us.

New subscribers will receive their voucher code by email this month.

And don't forget - we’ll also give you a further one-time 5% discount if someone you know mentions your name when subscribing!
All they have to do is email us with ’Subscribe Me’ in the subject line, including your full name in the body of the email. We’ll then send them their discount code, and send an extra one to you!
