Hello from Jenny & Mike!

Lots of events to mention this month. We do like to meet you, and get your ideas for pieces to make...keep the suggestions coming!

Events coming up
Details of all our events throughout the year, dates, links and advance info are on our events page.

Art Demonstration weekend at John Lewis, High Wycombe
Friday / Saturday 29th / 30th May, store opening hours, upstairs near the art section (of course!)
See how we make stained glass pieces - cutting glass, grinding, foiling and soldering....we'll be making pieces from scratch during the two days which we hope to have on show at Bucks Open Studios.

The other artists demonstrating at the same time will be:
Painter Jan Pursey-Grange
Sculptor Graham Lester: www.paperform.co.uk

Sea pieces at Obsidian Art, Stoke Mandeville
till 31st May
You can see a selection of our sea-themed pieces at Obsidian until Sunday 31st May. This gallery always has a varied selection of work, usually organised around an exhibition concept.

Bucks Open Studios - 13th - 28th June 2009, Wendover
The Open Studios season is almost upon us...we'll be exhibiting with renowned artist Sara Wickenden (so this will be two thirds of Art in Berkhamsted really); there's sure to be a range of interesting work to enjoy. Sadly Stu Grieve can't make this one, though he will be joining us for the Herts Open Studios in September.
Full details on our events page...

Finally....
Thanks to Mrs G for giving us a lovely bubbly commission to work on this month, and to Mr & Mrs B for an interesting challenge - 3 window panels with a William Morris-style theme of very precise dimensions...

We're looking forward to seeing you, hearing from you, or making something for you!

Best Regards,
Jenny & Mike

P.S. For those who asked last month "who does your website?" - well, the answer is "Mike does".
For any artists out there who need to get online but are worried about technology or the cost, have a look at www.artcraftweb.co.uk - one of Mike's other websites!

New simple pieces in our low cost series
Regulars will spot that the piece on the left, Trewavas, is similar to some of our sea pieces.
These are both framed in lead came (as used in leaded windows) instead of wood, which helps keep the cost down to £45 each.
Click the images for the full product info, as usual.

Reminder about our referral discount scheme
We’ll give you free shipping on your next purchase online over £100 if someone you know mentions your name when subscribing!
All they have to do is email us with ’Subscribe Me’ in the subject line, including your full name in the body of the email. We’ll then send a Free Shipping code to you.

Stained glass introduction classes
We often get asked - do you do courses?
Well, we're planning a series of beginner days, where you can try the basics of cutting, foiling and soldering. We'll have dates and costs for you next month, so look out for our June Newsletter, around the 6th or 7th of June!

Bucks Open Studios extra
We'd love to see you at our Open Studios exhibition and demonstration in Wendover in June. As an extra incentive to make the effort, our local pottery friends are also opening their studio nearby...visit www.jeremywhiteceramics.co.uk
for more info and opening times.

Bucks and Herts Open Studios are both great opportunities to see local artists doing what they do...so here's a plug for the two art organisations we're members of:
