Hello from Jenny & Mike!

This month we have new events, a dramatic new piece and a new window replacement service to tell you about.
But firstly we'd like to applaud Sally Evans for ignoring the general doom and gloom and deciding to establish a new Art and Craft market - in April in Thame. Details below...

Events coming up
The calendar is getting full already so here is advanced news of the next three events; we look forward to chatting with you in person!
As usual, details of all our events throughout the year, dates, links and advance info are on our events page.

Art in Berkhamsted exhibition , re:create, Berkhamsted
22nd March to 19th April 2009.
This will be our first AIB outing this year, with a selection of new work from Sara Wickenden, Stuart Grieve and Vitreus Art. We'll remind you nearer the time of course...

British Craft Trade Fair, Harrogate, North Yorks
5th, 6th, 7th April 2009
This is one of the UK's leading by-invitation trade fairs for designer-makers so we're delighted to have been selected to exhibit. The show is aimed at gallery owners, retailers, interior designers and others in the design and art world. Contact us if you'd like to meet up at the show. We're on stand N28.

Art & Craft Market, Thame Town Hall, Thame, Oxon
25th April 2009 10am to 4pm
Sally Evans' new market, in a new location. Sally works hard to ensure an eclectic mix of high-quality crafts and art and her long-established markets are always well attended by discerning people. That's you! Details on our events page...

Buckinghamshire Open Studios venue and dates confirmed
We've recently posted details of our Art in Berkhamsted exhibition in Wendover as part of the Visual Images Group Open Studios. Details on our events page as usual. We have a great venue lined up, with space to show you some really new pieces from Sara Wickenden and Vitreus Art. Bookmark this site for info later on:

Finally....
It's going to be a busy year, and that means more opportunities to meet and chat about glass, art, or anything else!
We're looking forward to seeing you, hearing from you, or making something for you!

Best Regards,
Jenny & Mike

P.S. For all artists living or working in and around Hertfordshire, the HVAF Open Studios 2009 season Call for Artists is now open. If you want to know more, or chat with someone who can talk you through how artists benefit from HVAF membership, get in touch with one of us in the usual ways!

Leaded windows now being commissioned
Tulip traditional stained glass window panelClose-up of leaded window frame

Regular readers will know that we've primarily focused on using the Tiffany method to achieve a delicacy of design suitable for interior display.
At the same time, we often receive requests for leaded window panels so we've been busy establishing a leaded window panel studio and we're officially launching this service now.

The panel above is ready to be glazed into its final destination, and is shown in the wooden beaded frame we're supplying, for easier installation.
The glass itself is 260x380mm.

New large 'glass sculpture' piece
Sometimes we go off on a flight of fancy and make something unlike anything we've done before. Here's an example - it's a large, dramatic piece, wall-hanging rather than intended for a window. The piece is called Champagne Bubbles and is approx 780mm high. It's currently residing at Mike's house, but ready to be installed in your home - on a sturdy picture hook.
