Hello from Jenny & Mike!

Happy New Year to all....
Amid the general doom surrounding us, and the frosty weather to boot, we hope that 2009 will fail to live down to everyone's expectations!

Events coming up
We'd love to see you at one of our exhibitions this year. As usual all details, dates, links and advance info are on our events page.

Art in Berkhamsted exhibition , re:create, Berkhamsted
22nd March to 19th April 2009.
This will be our first AIB outing this year, with a selection of new work from Sara Wickenden, Stuart Grieve and Vitreus Art. We'll remind you nearer the time of course...

British Craft Trade Fair, Harrogate, North Yorks
5th, 6th, 7th April 2009
This is one of the UK's leading by-invitation trade fairs for designer-makers so we're delighted to have been invited to exhibit. The show is aimed at gallery owners, retailers, interior designers and others in the design and art world. Contact us if you'd like to meet up at the show. We're on stand N28.

Demonstrations & exhibition at John Lewis, High Wycombe, Bucks.
29th, 30th May 2009
We've been invited to show off some of our skills and talk about our work at the John Lewis store in High Wycombe. Open to the public, we'll be showing some of the key processes used in making stained glass panels and answering questions, while showing selected pieces in the nearby display space.

Buckinghamshire Open Studios, Wendover, Bucks.
13 / 14th, 20/21st, 27/28th June 2009
We're delighted to have found an ideal venue for this year's Bucks Open Studios - the Library Meeting Room, off Wendover High Street.
This will be another Art in Berkhamsted outing, with new work from all four of us, plus possible guest artists. Look out for more info soon...

Info on Herts Open Studios to follow in coming months...

Call for artists in and around Hertfordshire

As some of you know, we're active in the Hertfordshire Visual Arts Forum, which is open to artists of all disciplines in and nearby Hertfordshire. The Call for Artists for the 2009 Open Studios season is now, ahem, open. Don't miss out on the Herts Arts event of the year!
Go to www.hvaf.org.uk or get in touch with one of us...

Finally....
Thanks to all the folks that have contacted us or visited one of our shows in 2008.
We're looking forward to seeing you again at one of our events, hearing from you, or making something for you!

Best Regards,
Jenny & Mike

P.S. Have a look at a new website Mike has built for local ceramicists Jeremy White & Godfrey Thorpe. Well known in Bucks and Herts, Jeremy and Godfrey create distinctive ceramics and practical tableware. Their website is: www.jeremywhiteceramics.co.uk.

We're getting in to leading...
Most of you know there are two different methods for constructing stained glass panels and windows. We've concentrated on the Tiffany method until now, as it's ideal for the kinds of domestic pieces we usually make. However, to meet the demand for larger pieces and windows, we're developing the additional skills needed to make traditional-method full leaded panels. We expect to show you our first pieces next month. In the meantime, here's a photo of Jenny working on an experimental leaded piece...
