January 2009 - New glass 'sculpture' piece added
This is a piece we made for our Broxbourne exhibition, but didn't have enough time to photograph before installing...it's called Champagne Bubbles and it's a large (780mm high), wall-mounted explosion of warm colours!

November 2008 - New Nautilus design
We're experimenting with aquatic and primitive-life shapes at the moment; Jenny's come up with this piece, inspired by our friend Sara Wickenden's painting. Click on the image to see larger views and dimensions etc.

November 2008 - Further developments in etching techniques
Having received a commission for a piece that was to incorporate two words - 'Horizons Sing' - we've been working on using glass etching with interesting results. The effect on this piece, made for the Soroptimist International Wales South organisation is quite subtle (and difficult to photograph...), but effective. We're keen to explore this method so if any of you out there want to discuss a commission with words, or etched features, do get in touch!

November 2008 - Vitreus Art selected for display at new gallery
We're delighted to be among the works on show at a new Gallery in Brackley. Rowans Gallery is due to open formally on Monday 17th November and will showcase a range of work from local and regional artists, so do pay a visit if you're in the area!

October 2008 - New Dove at Sunset piece added
Our dove has proved to be our most poular design - each piece we've made has quickly found a new home so here's a new piece along the same lines. In keeping with our policy of making each piece unique, this one features rather different colours to previous versions. Tell us what you think!

October 2008 - New designs with LED illumination
We've been experimenting with adding low-voltage LED illumination to some of our pieces, with (frankly) mixed results.
However, we have now successfully made two pieces based on a simple new design (to keep the cost down) which have rearward lighting. This provides a subtle glow around the piece and lights the glass. Difficult to photograph, but the pieces look very nice in the flesh!
Click on the thumbnails for the product pages for each piece.

October 2008 - Art of Wilstone art show; 22nd November
We've been invited to exhibit as guest artists at the forthcoming Art of Wilstone show, near Tring, Herts.
There'll be a wide variety of art - sculpture, encaustic painting (from our friend Sara Wickenden), photography and lots more.
Full details are on our Events page.
October 2008 - New design with etched glass
Having admired etched glass designs in this country and elsewhere, we've begun experimenting with etching. Our first efforts weren't perfect (if it was easy everyone would be doing it!) but we've recently added a piece that combines simple sea & sun colours with a subtle etched 'pebbles' theme. Click on the thumbnails to see the whole piece and then tell us what you think!

September 2008 - We're testing new frame styles & finishes
Ackowledging that frame colour or finish is something our decor-conscious customers have clear views on, we're planning to offer a selection of new frame finishes.
Soon you'll see new pieces with new finishes, but for now, here are some new options we're happy to provide for all new orders:
- Ash frame with a wax finish to bring out the grain
- Spruce frame with a stain of your choice (pine stain shown)
- Spruce frame with a colour wash (sea-green-blue shown)
- Spruce frame with a natural light wax finish

And our popular 'rustic-effect' whitewashed style is still available of course.

Take a look at these new pieces and tell us what you think.

July 2008 - New information about the techniques we use
We get a lot of questions about how Tiffany-method pieces are made, the soldering and foiling and so on. Visit this Stages of Making a Piece page for more info and pictures...
