"...it looks fantastic on our windowsill – I’m really pleased with it." - PS, Chesham August 2010 - Another new piece, and a new departureThe next sizeable new piece we have to show you is somthing of a new direction for Jenny - and it's called Satellite. It features Baroque glass (the black swirly glass) and rich reds to produce a very moody and contemporary feel. Click on the pic for more info. July 2010 - New pieces on the wayWe've got a few larger pieces in progress; this is the first to be completed - Refractions. It's loosely based on a sketch of waves breaking but the eventual piece, though watery in feel, seemed more like an optical effect when finished. July 2010 - Change of venue for Herts Open Studios Sept 2010Instead of Harpenden, we'll be at Albion Arts' new premises here: We've also changed the opening times in line with other shops and crafters at the centre (so there'll be plenty to see and enjoy!):
We'd love to see you there! July 2010 - Rowans Gallery demo day reminder - 10th July We're looking forward to another open-air demo day in the Market Courtyard in Brackley, outside Rowans Gallery. Details on our events page. June 2010 - Bucks Open Studios underway!To help you navigate round the artists participating in Wendover, near our own exhibition, here's a link to a Google Map we've created. We hope to see you there! June 2010 - new wall hanging piecesAmong several new wall-mounting pieces is this new one - Tree of Life. This is based loosely on a design we created for a commission, but here we've used a wider range of tree and leaf-like glasses. It's designed to hang on a wall from a picture hook. May 2010 - more new pieces in our 'sail' seriesHaving had a lot of favourable comments we've made two more upright pieces - one to hang on a wall and the other a freestanding piece - we hope you like them...click on the pics for info. May 2010 - New pieces at Yellow Kite GalleryVisitors to Buckingham's new Yellow Kite Gallery can see one of Jenny's newest pieces - a large framed piece, below: The gallery has a terrific selection (we've been there and loved it) of larger pieces by artists from all round the UK. April 2010 - Pieces at Obsidian ArtsWe're delighted to have some pieces (including the sail-shaped pieces below) at Obsidian Art's current exhibition - Oh to be in England. April 2010 - Intermediate / Improvers class date addedWe've been asked to run an improvers class for people who've done stained glass before and want to refine their techniques. The class will guide you through making a challenging project piece and will introduce you to basic leading techniques too. We'll also try some of the advanced tools the pros use to speed up working with glass. Full details and booking info here... April 2010 - Two new skeleton-framed piecesWe're experimenting with more new designs suitable for hanging on walls and these two are our latest additions. They both have a subtle layered construction and are about 610mm high - a good size for many rooms we hope! Click on the pics for more info. March 2010 - Venue agreed for Herts Open Studios, SeptemberWe're delighted to be working with Joanna Mason of Albion Arts, and Sara Wickenden, at the Albion Arts venue, Harpenden this September. We'll be offering hands-on taster sessions as well as demos and revealing our latest work. More info and opening times soon! February 2010 - New class dates set for Albion Arts, HarpendenWe've just agreed more class dates with Albion Arts.
February 2010 - Demo day dates set for Rowans Gallery and Living Crafts, Hatfield HouseWe're continuing our series of demo days with two new dates. We're also going to be running a demo day at Rowans Gallery, Brackley on 10th July - more info nearer the day. January 2010 - New one-day stained glass class dates for BrackleyWe've just agreed two further class dates with Rowans Gallery, Brackley. We're now taking bookings for places on 21st August and 23rd October. Visit our classes page to see what you'll be learning, what attendees have said about the class, and for booking options! January 2010 - New Lake District pieces addedHave a look at these - two pieces inspired by lakeside views in the Lake District. We're interested to what you think of the horizontal 'aspect'! January 2010 - New pieces selected for Obsidian Art showWe're delighted that two of our new pieces (below) have been selected for Obsidian Art's Trees, Woods, Land & Sea exhibition, opening on Jan 7th. December 2009 - New pieces with sea / watery theme addedHave a look at these two: Atlantic Rain and Salty Spray - two pieces exploiting the texture of Spectrum waterglass and using our new skeleton frame idea to make subtle and compact wall pieces. Nov 09 - New pieces selected for Obsidian Art's forthcoming Winter Wonders showWe're delighted to have been selected to provide 4 pieces for this winter-themed exhibition, beginning on the 12th November. Included in the selection is Winter in Red Square, below. Oct 09 - Meet the Artists evening at Rowans Gallery - 21st NovemberWe'll be among several of the artists currently showing their work at Rowans Gallery in Brackley. Proprietor Sally Eaton is celebrating her gallery's first birthday, so do pop along, meet the artists, and see what's new in the gallery! 6-30 to 8-30pm. Oct 09 - a selection of pieces at Tutti Arts, WarminsterWe've just delivered some pieces to this smart and varied gallery in Wiltshire. Do take the time to visit if you're in the area. Oct 09 - New large piece with a sea themeVisitors to our recent Open Studios will have seen this piece in its work-in-progress state. Well, here it is finished and mounted for window or wall-hanging...it's called Cornish Surf and is 750mm high. Click on the image for info and bigger photos. Oct 09 - Demo Day at Ginny Gray Gallery - 5th DecemberWe'll be setting up at GGG in Buckingham on the 5th December and demonstrating how stained glass pieces are made.
